When Molly McBride came home from work one Friday afternoon, October 24, her boyfriend Jim Newton met her in the driveway with a long-stemmed red rose. Molly assumed it was for their anniversary, which had just passed days prior. As they walked into the house together, Molly noticed Jimmy had transformed their entire home with beautiful decorations. There were dozens of red roses and trails of petals, Latin music played over the stereo, and reflections of light flickered off the walls from the candles lit throughout. Absolutely astonished and still in shock from the surprise, Molly then glanced at the dining room table, which was elegantly set with an entire home-cooked meal of steak, lobster, stuffed crabs, fruit salad, and Molly's favorite champagne on the rocks. As the two sat down to eat together, Molly still believed that Jimmy had went out of his way to do all of this for their anniversary...there was still no thought of a proposal. After dinner was over, Jimmy handed a picture frame to Molly which was full of photos of them throughout their relationship. In the middle of the frame was a poem Jimmy had written and asked Molly to read aloud. The title was "A Wish Upon A Dandelion", which represented a wish Jimmy had made on a dandelion Molly had picked for him early on in their relationship which he vowed he would never reveal..., until now. The poem read: Our love is one of a kind, It’s one thing in life I thought I was never going to find. I picked up a dandelion and made a wish one day, That our love for one another would never fade away. The love I found with you Molly, I can’t even explain. But when you’re not around I feel heartache and pain. If you could look into my heart I know you would see Just how much you mean to me. So the best way I can show you How much I love you Is to get down on one knee and ask you… At this point, Molly stopped reading the poem only to look at Jimmy knelt down at her feet. His next words were "Will you marry me?" Both were filled with emotions and as Molly bent down to hug him, she whispered in his ear "Yes!". That is how it happened…an engagement story they will never forget. Since then, Molly and Jimmy have made several attempts to plan their dream wedding but some life twists and turns have forced them to postpone once, twice, and three times! The most recent delay was one well worth the wait though. They welcomed a precious baby boy into their hearts and lives. One would think that there couldn’t be anymore love between the couple until you see them with their new son. It’s all they ever wanted…to be together and walking happily into their future hand in hand as husband and wife. The time and is right and the love is there...the only thing missing now is a wedding.
